OUTLINE

Conflict between staff members, colleagues and people around you can become toxic and spread if not addressed in an appropriate and careful way. However, navigating this kind of situation can be like walking through a mine field: be careful where you tread because there’s a lot that can go wrong!

Since you can’t prevent conflict, we can learn how to handle or manage it productively. What is critical for resolving conflict is developing an understanding of, and a trust in, shared goals.

•Learn active listening skills, including summarising, reframing and when to use silence

•Discussion and analysis of the not-so-helpful things that people do

•Understanding ‘stuckness’ and learning strategies for moving things forward

•Gaining the practical skills and framework for setting up a helpful conflict resolution process.
